How to choose a commercial treadmill

Choosing the right treadmill is one of the most important decisions for any gym. Here is what to compare.

Motor power For commercial use, look for an AC motor with at least 3 HP continuous power. Peak power figures are higher but continuous power tells you how the machine performs over long hours.

Running area and deck A running area of around 1500 x 520 mm or larger is comfortable for most runners. A thicker deck and good shock absorption reduce stress on joints.

Incline and speed Commercial models typically offer 0-15 or 0-20 incline levels and speeds up to 20 km/h or more.

Maximum user weight For commercial gyms, choose a treadmill rated for 180 kg or more.

Console LED consoles are simple and durable. Touch-screen and Android consoles add entertainment and connectivity.
